| David Berlow David Berlow begun his career in the type industry in 1977 with Mergenthaler Linotype where he developed such legible typeface revivals as New Century Schoolbook and New Caledonia. He moved to the newly formed Bitstream Inc. in 1982 before forming The Font Bureau Inc. with Roger Black in 1989. The Font Bureau have developed over 200 typefaces, new designs and revivals for custom clients, the retail market and for equipment manufacturers like Apple Computer Inc. Berlow has won no major awards and is not a member of any prestigious organisation. His hobbies include taking time off, collecting rubber bands and counting grains of sand. But then there was more: Berlow is vice president at Interactive Bureau, a new media company and is organizer of Type Lab, a traveling thing on type and typography. |
