TYPO Berlin 2011 Shift - 16th International Design Conference May 19th – 21st

The twins Thomas and Martin Poschauko were born in Rosenheim in 1980 and studied Communication Design at the Würzburg University of the Applied Sciences from 2001 to 2007. Since 2007, they have been running their own studio in Au near Bad Aibling (Upper Bavaria). As designers, they work in the areas of illustration and graphic design and, as artists they focus on painting, drawing and print. The Poschaukos are interested in exploring creativity and design and pass on their knowledge to others as lecturers and authors.

NEA MACHINA – The creative machine »Head - Gut - Hand - Computer« (G)

At his first encounter with NEA MACHINA, Stefan Sagmeister was consumed by an »unbelievable desire to go into the studio and work«. This kind of desire is not always felt by creative people. All too often, tight deadlines, practical mental work and sitting still at the computer get in the way. Thomas und Martin Poschauko reveal how creativity can be really good fun when we fire up our play instinct by working perceptibly with our hands and how ideas can gush forth if we just allow our minds to take a short break. They will be demonstrating a creative experiment in which more than 1,000 different graphic design works came into being in only four months and they will be taking the TYPO visitors on an inspiring trip
