Gabrowitsch
Ivo Gabrowitsch is the marketing director of FSI FontShop International, home to the FontShop font library and the FontShop concept. At FSI, he was responsible for developing web fonts and introducing them to the market. A certified engineer in print and media technology, Gabrowitsch studied at Beuth College in Berlin and worked for many years as a media designer.

Until recently, web designers were at the end of their creative freedom when it came to font choice. But the days when we were limited to system fonts like Arial, Verdana and Georgia are over! After years of typographic tristesse, thanks to WOFF and EOT, we finally have access to font formats that are supported by both browser and font developers, opening up completely new design opportunities. Ivo Gabrowitsch talks about what that means to the character and legibility of web sites and how to most effectively utilise web fonts.
