Spiekermann

 
Erik Spiekermann is an author and an information and font designer. He founded MetaDesign and FontShop, is an honorary professor at the Bremen Arts Academy and has an honorary doctorate from the Pasadena Art Center. In 2003, he received the Gerrit Noordzij Prize from the Royal Academy in The Hague and in 2007 he became the first designer inducted into the Hall of Fame of the European Design Awards for Communication Design. He has been named an honorary Royal designer for industry by the RSA in London. Some of his font designs, including FF Meta and ITC Officina have already achieved the status of modern classics. Spiekermann is creative director of Edenspiekermann. He lives and works in Amsterdam, Berlin, London and San Francisco.
