About the person

Birgit S. Bauer is a designer, author and design critic living in Berlin. In 2003, she was awarded the first Braun Feldweg Prize for design criticism. She was a professor at the Kassel art academy, teaching and doing research in the product design division. Birgit S. Bauer writes extensively on design subjects, including for such media as Designreport, Artnet.de and the Deutscher Fachverlag. She was one of the initiators of the web portal www.designkritik.dk, dedicated to giving designers a voice and the ongoing development of critical forms.
