van der Laan

Paul van der Laan works as a typographic designer from a studio near the seaside in The Hague. He is a founding partner of the Bold Monday type foundry and a tutor at the masters course Type & Media at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague. As such, he has given workshops and lectures at a wide variety of international schools and conferences. Van der Laan and Erik van Blokland organise the tri-annual Robothon conference on type design and technology. His typeface designs include Flex, Feisar, Chalet Comprimé, FF Kievit Pro and FF Milo (in collaboration with Mike Abbink), and the new corporate typeface for Audi (in collaboration with Pieter van Rosmalen).
