Yanone was born in Dresden but spent the majority of his childhood and youth in East Africa. After returning and getting his high school diploma in Dresden, he did his compulsory military service. He went on to study first media systems, then visual communication at the Bauhaus University in Weimar. During his studies, he did internships at SYNTAX design office in Amman and FontShop International in Berlin. He ended his studies in 2009 with a stroke of good fortune – creating the font family for the Jordanian capital.

Or how a Bauhaus student set out to learn to write the other way around and hence managed to create an Arabic/Latin font family for Jordan’s capital, Amman.
